Selection criteria
Which surface and level of wear determine the version?
3M describes Universal for smooth surfaces with heavy foot traffic. Conformable is intended for uneven, curved or profiled surfaces; Extra Strong for heavy wear and substantial soiling. Wet Area Medium and Wet Area Fine are intended for smooth surfaces in barefoot and wet areas. Also check the shape of the surface, foot traffic, moisture and required width before selecting a product.

SELECT BY SURFACE
Check the surface, substrate and installation together
Universal may suit smooth walkways; Conformable is the more targeted option for chequer plate and edges. Extra Strong addresses heavily used or dirty treads. For barefoot and wet areas, the manufacturer's information distinguishes Wet Area Medium from Wet Area Fine by application. Suitability depends on the individual product and surface; a series name does not replace an on-site assessment.
3M specifies clean, dry surfaces for bonding. Edge sealer is a separate accessory, not an anti-slip surface. Krückemeyer GmbH can convert suitable surfaces into cut lengths or die-cut parts and match the delivery form to your process. Use the enquiry form to tell us about the substrate, surface profile, wear and required dimensions.
If you need to join two components instead, see the separate double-sided adhesive tape category.

QUESTIONS ABOUT 3M SAFETY-WALK
Which 3M Safety-Walk version suits profiled metal surfaces?
3M describes the Conformable Safety-Walk version for uneven, curved and profiled surfaces, including chequer plate and angled areas. Universal is described for smooth surfaces with heavy foot traffic. The exact profile, condition of the substrate and expected wear still determine suitability. Before installation, check whether the selected surface follows the contours properly and which product instructions apply to your area.
How do Safety-Walk Wet Area Medium and Wet Area Fine differ?
Both versions are described for smooth surfaces in barefoot and wet areas. 3M names boats and water-sports or fitness equipment among the applications for Wet Area Medium. Wet Area Fine is described for shower rooms, bathrooms, changing rooms and saunas, among others. Their surfaces and intended settings differ; neither name establishes suitability for every wet area. Choose by the specific product, substrate and use, and check the product-specific slip-resistance information.
Can 3M Safety-Walk be bonded to a wet substrate?
3M specifies clean, dry surfaces for adhesion. A version intended for use in wet areas does not mean it is approved for bonding onto a wet substrate. Check the surface condition before installation and follow the application instructions for the selected product. For uneven or critical surfaces, assess the suitability of both the anti-slip surface and any installation accessory separately.
Is Safety-Walk edge sealer itself an anti-slip surface?
No. The 3M Safety-Walk edge sealer in the range is a liquid accessory for the exposed edges of an installed anti-slip surface. It does not replace the slip-resistant surface or the choice of a version suited to the substrate. First select the surface for the tread area, then assess whether the edge design in your application calls for sealing. Process the product and accessory according to their respective manufacturer instructions.
What details help when enquiring about cut shapes?
Tell us the substrate and its profile, foot traffic and any moisture or soiling. Add the preferred Safety-Walk version if already selected, plus the required width, length or shape and your planned installation process. 3M mentions custom cut lengths and die-cut parts on request; Krückemeyer GmbH reviews conversion against the material and your application. This helps establish whether a roll or a prepared shape is the appropriate next step.
